Promotion Printables:

Dear Youth Leader or Pastor,

We are so excited that you are considering bringing your youth group to Summer Youth Celebration (SYC)! Our team continues to stand in awe of all God does at our Association’s Youth Camp and are praying that you will consider sending your teenagers this summer!

Registration

Our registration and payments are completely online, nothing will be accepted through mail. Main church leaders will get email confirmations as your youth register online. If you are the main church leader and are not receiving these emails, please Contact Us. As youth leaders, it’s a rare occasion for you to be able to attend a church event without having to volunteer. At SYC, we want to make sure our leaders are not only given a chance to participate in the fun stuff but able to experience Christ and grow as leaders. To facilitate this, we have organized a leader bible study and track time. During the leader bible study, you will be studying the same materials as your youth. Our leader track time will offer a chance for ministry training and networking with other youth leaders. We are excited to have the opportunity to give back to our leaders and hope you will take advantage of being able to spend more time with their students and less time prepping for camp activities.

Before we get to camp, please help your youth and leaders remember the registration deadline dates!

Students & Leaders Groups

Throughout each day at camp you will find that your students are dispersed into a variety of groups for different activities.  Bible Studies will see them divided by grade, while Track Times will see them divided up by interests.  You will easily have time with your students during meals and free time.  Additionally we build in a time every evening for you to gather with just your campers to check in on how everyone is doing, address questions from your students and review the learning and adventures of the day – if you would like help in structuring this time, simply ask and we will supply you with some ideas!

Offering

Each year at camp we give the students and leaders an opportunity to give.  This is because in our discipleship journey the use of money is an important part – and giving helps us see beyond ourselves, it can also be a valuable part of worship.  Many years our offering goes to support the Eastern Baptist Convention in Cuba.  In Cuba, attending a camp similar to SYC costs just $5 per attendee!  Other years the offering goes to support other missions foci, for example one year the offering was given towards disaster relief here in Alberta.  There will be a presentation given to inform the students about their opportunity to give and then an offering taken later, during an evening worship service, for the special cause. Please encourage your youth to give to this offering.

Scholarships

Camp is a great experience for students. We want as many youth as possible to have the opportunity to attend SYC. But we also know that the cost of camp can be a burden for some families. If finances are a hurdle for your students to come to camp, we have scholarship opportunities available. Simply direct parents to our scholarship page on the main menu and we’ll take their inquiry from there!
