Summer Youth Celebration
A Christian Camp for Grades 6 - 12
SYC Alberta is a summer camp held at Prairie Bible College in Three Hills. We offer the opportunity for students to experience Christ through worship, discipleship, community and adventure. It is our belief that God loves everyone individually, and desires to have a personal relationship with them. Our prayer is that students will be able to focus on that relationship during their time at camp.
Introducing our Camp Leaders
Here are the people who will be leading our many ministries this week!
Andy Menjivar
Camp Speaker
Andy Menjivar serves as Associate Pastor at The Vine Church Calgary, where he also leads the Vine Youth, along with his wife Sien-Ven (pronounced "see ven").
Whenever Andy is not studying, he is busy playing LEGO with his 5 year old daughter, Hannah.
Cameron Phillips
Worship Leader
Hi! I’m Cameron Phillips - 28 years old and newly married to my wonderful husband, Zac, as of this February.
I’m a full-time worship leader and social media content creator at a church in South Carolina, where I get to use the gifts God has given me to point others to Christ. I’m especially passionate about leading students into the presence of Jesus through worship and
helping them see how deeply loved they are.
I love all things pink, sparkly, and joy-filled — because I believe following Jesus should be full of life and beauty. I’m beyond excited to be back at SYC for my third summer, ready for all that
God is going to do!
William Ritz
Bible Study Leader (Youth)
William Ritz is the Youth and Young Adults Pastor at Bow Valley Baptist Church in Cochrane, Alberta. He’s passionate about walking alongside young people as they grow in their faith and discover who God has created them to be.
William loves working with youth because of their boldness, their questions, and their contagious passion for both God and life. Whether it’s late-night campfire talks, worship sessions, or just hanging out, he loves it all.
He’s pumped to be part of SYC this summer and is praying for a week full of growth, connection, and unforgettable God moments.
Kevin Peacock
Bible Study Leader (Leaders)
Kevin Peacock has been teaching people the Bible for quite a few years now, but what he loves most is teaching others how to teach the Bible.
When he is not doing his work at the Baptist seminary and college in Cochrane or in his local church, you can find him most afternoons taking long walks with his dog Pitch, or occasionally swimming with otters.
2025 Theme - EXCHANGE
Gaining through Giving Up
What does it mean to exchange? To make an exchange is to swap “this” for “that.” Exchanging is about trading up. It’s giving up something you have for what you want—something better. A better fit. A better option. A better experience. A better deal. A better life.
In every exchange, something must be given up in order for something to be gained. It probably isn’t shocking to learn that when most people make an exchange, very rarely do they give away something they desire for something they don’t. It just doesn’t work that way, does it? But thankfully, Jesus isn’t most people.
At the heart of the Gospel, there is a single, powerful exchange that occurred when a sinless Savior carried the sin of humanity to the Cross and willingly made the exchange of His life for ours. His innocence for our guilt and shame. He traded down so we could trade up. In doing so, Jesus made possible the ultimate exchange that, once embraced, leads to countless other exchanges in the lives of those who will believe and follow Him.
